Mediation center a major coup for design enthusiasts Imagine a huge turtle sitting on your roof. Unthinkable? Well, a look at the Yoga Centre, Nature Cure, SDME Society in Bengaluru will convince you that it is possible to execute any design as long as the right material is used. The convention center at Nelmangala is a treat for connoisseurs of visual art. The soon-to-be inaugurated campus has multiple facilities for meditation, stay, yoga and relaxation activities. The unique roof -- made to resemble a turtle -- has been designed in parametric shape by the architect. It has multiple curves and slopes, making it a truly parametric roof. The building's designer was looking for a material which is seamless, monolithic and gives a homogeneous effect without showing regular seam lines. Generally, complex roof structures are built using the Standing seam system, but for the turtle design. Principal Architect Ar. Maahesh P. Doiphode from Masterminds Architects.
